Dear People of King of Kings,

Humans need space. We need space to brush our teeth, fix our meals, do our jobs. We need space to pray, worship and be with others in Christ's name.

It's easy to get pre-occupied with space. Usually that means protecting, cleaning, and preserving space. But sometimes a lack of space crowds us so that we become preoccupied in a different manner.

When the sanctuary fills up, Sunday School reaches a loud din, or when fellowship time starts to seem like a day at the Art Fair, then people, especially new people, notice the lack of space at King of Kings. Our normal urge is to leave crowded spaces. We have trouble finding our own place in a crowd.

All this is to say that we seek to expand this ministry space, not only for comfort, but mainly for hospitality. It is our solemn obligation before God to welcome people in the spirit. One way to do that is to 'yield comfortable space to all who come.' This mission effort to stretch ourselves is a faith effort. The new space will be pleasant for us and a life transforming welcome to those yet to come.

When you make your faith promise, you are promising a welcome in Christ to many who will join us in the powerful Spirit of God.

Peace,

Denny Hacker

pastor

Growth – as a community of faith, we seek to grow in our understanding of what it means to live as Christians.

Our Faith Promise

"Fulfill the Vision" is both a challenge and an opportunity for the congregation and friends of King of Kings. We challenge everyone for financial support. At the same time, this is an opportunity to renew our commitment to God's work and pledge our faith with every gift.

Our financial plan is simple. We depend upon the participation of our members and friends to meet our financial obligations. Although no single amount is appropriate for everyone, we seek the active involvement of every member and family.

Celebration Sunday. This is an exciting time as we recognize the spectacular success of the previous campaign, and reenergize and rededicate ourselves to move forward. Please plan to join our church family on Celebration Sunday as we work to "Fulfill the Vision and Grow in Mission".

Visitation. Home visitations are not planned as an automatic part of this campaign, but are available from trained and experienced members if desired. If you feel that you would benefit from a personal discussion of how best to meet our communal goal please contact the church office.

What to give? Because giving is such a personal matter, to be decided in your own heart with God's guidance, only you can answer that question. We ask that you give of the gifts that God has given you according to your means, and in keeping with your faith. Because our commitment period will last for three years, even a small amount every week will make a significant contribution.

3 shares $120.00 per week totals $18,720
2 shares $80.00 per week totals $12,480
1½ shares $60.00 per week totals $9360
1 share $40.00 per week totals $6,240
3/4 share $30.00 per week totals $4,680
1/2 share $20.00 per week totals $3,120
1/4 share $10.00 per week totals $1,560

How to give? You may give weekly, monthly, quarterly annually or semi-annually as you prefer. Additionally, there may be considerable tax advantages to you if you choose to donate appreciated stocks, mutual funds or property. Contact the church office for details.

Finally, your faith promise is a declaration of your intention. Although we will plan on you honoring their commitment, your declared plan is not legally binding. If your circumstances change and it becomes necessary to increase or decrease your plan, simply contact the church office. Your faith promise commitment will be held in the strictest confidence.

A Message From Your Steering Committee . . .

"FULFILL THE VISION: GROWTH IN MISSION"

As our Pastor, Denny Hacker, has said of King of Kings on many an occasion – ‘we are indeed a faith community that is coming of age.’ We thank God for the continued growth of this congregation that now sees itself beyond its adolescence and is striving to be a mature faith community. As an adolescent outgrows clothes, we too have outgrown our youthful physical attire and have changed in many healthy ways.

At this juncture we ask each member and friend of King of Kings to prayerfully reflect upon our call to mission as a faith community eager to serve in this world in the name of our Risen Lord. Our vision for ourselves as a congregation, and for those that we are called to serve, is filled with promise. However as we rejoice in our past here at King of Kings, we must prepare for a new experience in spiritual growth and commitment in order to meet the challenge of our future.

We must acknowledge that it does take more than a spacious building to achieve our mission. It takes committed people who have fellowship with one another, and more importantly, fellowship with God. The focus and theme of our capital campaign is to ‘fulfill our vision’ through a congregational ‘growth in mission’. As we all give sacrificially, not only will the financial need be met, but our spiritual growth will be renewed and blessed by faithfully seeking and doing God’s will.

We ask you to join us in prayer, as we search our hearts and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit for our congregation throughout this campaign. Grant us strength and commitment to act each day in witness to the Grace of God in our lives.

Yours in faith,

Kyle Pleger, Mary Sherrill, Tom McFadden, Faith Vlcek, Jim Hicks, Marty Kope, Deb Hetrick, Roger Facer, Steve Roper, Deanna Hicks, Denny Hacker, and Harv Grotrian
