King of Kings Lutheran
Adult Education
The goal of Adult Spiritual Growth is to ensure there is meaningful and life changing experience in Adult Sunday School, other Bible studies, issue nights and retreats. Adult Spiritual Growth at King of Kings will provide occasions for personal growth in body, mind and soul through prayer and study together. You will find a rich variety of experiences in becoming a well-grounded child of God. All of the studies will be founded in Scripture and based upon God's relationship with us.
Besides basic Bible study, watch for opportunities to participate in topical studies on health, family issues, personal growth, social challenge, interpersonal relationships, theological considerations, and studies about rites, music, drama, and art. We will continue our investigations to assure that we are addressing the needs of our Church and our community. Should you have ideas and recommendations that will assist us in conveying the message of Christ's love for you, please contact us.
Sunday Morning Studies:
Perhaps you desire to go beyond the understanding of the Bible you received as a child in Sunday school. Or, maybe you didn’t grow up in the church and are curious to learn more. Interested in life-long-learning or continuing education for your walk with God? Do you enjoy talking with friends over a cup of coffee? Are you looking for a safe, friendly place to compare notes and discuss issues of faith?
Please come to King of King’s weekly adult education class. Each week at 9:30 a.m.., between Sunday services, we gather to discuss a variety of topics. Led by volunteer lay teachers or Pastor Michael, our weekly discussions include studies of scripture, Lutheran theology, and contemporary books that deal with faith and religion, health, family, relationships, and current events. We read the Bible and other books; investigate video series, art, or music together; or invite guest speakers on special topics. Topics for the current “semester” include:
· The Book of Esther October 15 - November 11
· Creation, Evolution, & Intelligent Design December 2 – December 23
Topics for 2008 include:
· The Letter to the Hebrews
· Lutheranism 101
· Praying the Psalms
· Conflict in the Middle East
If you would like to suggest a topic for upcoming sessions, are interested in teaching a class, or have questions about Adult Christian Education at King of Kings, please call or email Paul Rentschler at paulrentschler @kingofkingslutheran.org. We hope to see you for good discussion Sunday mornings.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~King of Kings Library
Did you know that King of Kings has a Library? It is located in the "Library/Choir Room" off of the narthex and you can go in and browse any time you like! Our collection has grown by leaps and bounds in the last two years in part because of generous donations by individuals who want to share what they have benefited from along their spiritual journey. Wherever you are on your lifelong journey in partnership with God, I'm sure you could find something to help you along the way in the Library. We have books in every category as well as DVDs, VHS tapes, cassette tapes to suit your time availability and style. I try to purchase materials that have been suggested by others as well as materials that I come across that I believe will contribute to our gaining knowledge, insight, and perspective. There are books and videos for children as well as adults. Each item in the Library should have an index card that describes the item--this card is for checking out that item. Please put your name on the back of the card of an item you are borrowing and leave the card in the clear plastic box that is on the Library table in the narthex. There is a box near the Library/Choir Room that is for the return of library materials. Please do not take things out without signing for them and return them within a reasonable time period so that another person can benefit from it. I also put out on the Library table a variety of materials for your perusal each week and put an article in most of these Newsletters to bring attention to some new, timely, or noteworthy items. Please take every advantage of our Library--it's worth the trip!
